RMS Titanic Lifeboat

The RMS Titanic hit an iceberg on her maiden voyage between Southampton, England and New York, USA. She was the largest passenger ship of the time.. Depicted by the builders and White Star Line as being 'unsinkable'. She sank in April 1912 with a loss of 1517 passengers. The design didnt allow for the complete number of passengers and crew to get to the lifeboats, and many were damaged on launch, or were only 1/3 full. The few survivors were picked up within a few hours, thanks to this lifeboat design. The film 'Titanic' depicted the disaster in the freezing waters of the north Atlantic that night. She has subsequently been found, and examined extensivly under water.

Pics and short history here. Depicted here is the lifeboat design, so you can experience of sailing such a vessel.
